Task 1 Cockney Rhyming Slang Article Summary This article discusses the decreasing understanding of cockney rhyming slang among Londoners and the decline in its use in more recent years. The writer utilises statistics in order to sounds authoritative; in the second paragraph, it reads 'A study of 2000 adults...'. By using this study the writer backs up their argument, and allows the reader to put the information given into a clearer perspective. Also, the writer uses the opinion of an expert from the Museum of London to give a more in depth explanation and allow the information in article to be perceived as more legitimate.
